Project Engineer
Okay Industries, Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to assist with new program launches.
The successful candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and have at least 5 years
of experience in a metalworking environment, preferably metal stamping/machining. The job will consist of intense “hands on” shop floor interaction.
This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering and will work closely with the Manufacturing and Quality as well as interacting with customers and suppliers.
Job Requirements:
Self-driven personality.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Minimum of 5 years of Engineering background and/or education in a metalworking field, preferably stamping,
machining and mechanical assemblies, including some knowledge/experience with design. BS in Mechanical/Industrial engineering preferred.
Relationship building skills, peer, upstream (mgmt) and downstream.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Project management experience, understanding of production processes and flow.
Strong organization skills a must.
CAD Experience, as well as other industry required software (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Project, Access).
Preferred but not required:
-
Regulated industry experience (Medical Device, Automotive, etc.). Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, Validation processes and procedures.

PMI certification.

Working knowledge of ISO9000, TS16949, ISO13485.

Strong knowledge and application of statistical methodologies.

Good command of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing with practical application of applicable functional gaging technique and tolerance interpretation.
